When to book your session?
Please book your sessions as soon as possible.
Ideally, your maternity session should be booked by your 20 week mark (if not before). Maternity sessions take place between 28-36 weeks pregnant.
You can contact me at any time during your pregnancy to give me an estimated due date. We will then make a tentative booking. When you arrive home from hospital with your brand new baby, you can contact me to arrange a suitable day for your session.
The best time to photograph a newborn baby in studio is when they are under two weeks of age. After two weeks, babies are a little harder to settle and things like colic and baby acne can start to flare up. If you would like to include siblings, please ensure you let me know prior to your session so we can plan accordingly.
Newborn lifestyle sessions take place in the comfort of your own home and are scheduled anytime from 14 days new up until 3 months old.
*Please note that all sessions are by appointment only.
Where do session take place?
All studio sessions take place in our beautiful, boutique-studio at Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre in White River, Mpumalanga. Sessions begin at 9am and all sessions end by 11am. If you require a specific studio time, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you.
If you wish for your maternity or family session to take place outdoors or at a specific location, please discuss upfront with me.
*Please note session take place Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
How long are sessions?
Maternity sessions vary from 45-60 minutes and studio newborn sessions take approximately 2 hours, however they can take up to 3-4 hours (depending on your baby). We allow plenty of time for feeding and comforting. If siblings are included in your studio session, a family member will need to bring them to the studio for the last 30 minutes of your session (usually around 10.15/30am).
Fresh48, newborn lifestyle sessions and family sessions take approximately 1 hour.
Sitter and mom & baby sessions take approximately 20-30 minutes as small children tend to have limited cooperation.
A minimum of 4 hours are dedicated to birth documentation for c-sections.
Portrait sessions generally take 2 hours but can take up to 3-4 hours, including professional hair and makeup.
Portrait preparation begins at 8am.
*A later session time is available on request.
